Andover Public Schools values the linguistic diversity of our school community and appreciates the dedication and commitment involved in advanced language study. To recognize the assets of multilingualism and to promote language learning, AHS is proud to participate in the MA State Seal of Biliteracy award program.
Since 2019, AHS has awarded the Seal to seniors who have attained a high level of proficiency in English and at least one other language. Through a demonstrated proficiency in English via the ELA MCAS and a language test such as the STAMP or ALTA test, students with the Seal have demonstrated a minimum of Intermediate High level language skills.
The first year of the Seal’s inception, AHS awarded 16 students the Seal and this year that number has more than quadrupled to 73 seniors with another 43 juniors already slated for 2027. Congratulations to all of our recipients and to the educator and family support that helped them achieve this goal! We’re proud of you!
