Extra-curricular travel opportunities are offered at various times throughout a student's middle and high school career.

APS International travel opportunities are voluntary and teacher-driven. All the trips have a cultural and enrichment component and a number of opportunities include a service component as well.

Individual clubs and enrichment groups at the high school have participated in competitions which have also afforded a wide range of travel opportunities. These groups include APS Robotics, DECA, Model UN and Show Choir. Examples of places that faculty and students traveled to include Italy, Thailand, Japan, Greece, Boston, Orlando, Houston, New York City, Hawaii, and Costa Rica.
