June 6, 2025

Dear APS families and staff,

As the 2024–25 school year comes to a close, I am reflecting on the many milestones and moments that made this year special. These final weeks are always a joyful time - filled with year-end celebrations, student achievements, and community gatherings. It’s especially meaningful to witness our students' growth and accomplishments, and to take part in the events that mark the end of another successful school year.

This week alone, we celebrated the Andover High School Class of 2025 and our 411 graduates, cheered on our student-athletes at the annual Special Olympic games with North Andover, and had the honor of recognizing our retiring staff members, who together represent 605 years of dedicated service to the students of Andover.

Throughout the year, we made significant strides forward. We introduced new K–8 literacy curriculum supports, achieved a balanced budget, and launched several important advisory councils—including the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, the Redistricting Advisory Council, and the FY26 Budget Advisory Council. Each of these groups is playing a vital role in guiding the district’s work and supporting our mission. Over the past year, we have also made meaningful progress toward our shared equity vision on behalf of our students and families.

We continued to build stronger connections with the Andover community by introducing the “Let’s Talk!” community forums, creating space for conversations with families, staff, and residents, helping us listen and learn on topics of interest. Our “Take 2!” video series offered an opportunity to spotlight the voices of our incredible staff, sharing their experiences and perspectives on the work happening in our schools.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to welcome Shawsheen students into their brand-new school building this August—an important milestone and a symbol of our community’s investment in education.

As always, I’m deeply grateful for the support of our families, staff, and community members. Thank you to our PTOs/PACs, the Andover Coalition for Education (ACE), Andona, and all our partners for the many ways you enrich our students’ experiences.

One more busy week of school with celebrations of learning before we end the school year! Thank you for your partnership this year. I wish you all a relaxing and joyful summer.
