We’re thrilled to share that our Food Rescue Project had a successful first week! Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we collected 127 pounds of non-perishable food from our cafeteria, which has already been delivered to local food pantries to support those in need.
Our Student Council continues to lead the way—not only by organizing collections but also by teaching lessons on food insecurity and food rescue during their weekly visits to assigned classrooms. Their leadership and compassion are helping to build awareness and action across our school.
We are still looking for volunteers to help sustain this important work. If you're interested in supporting the project, please reach out—we’d love to have you join us! Sign up for a time slot via the SignUpGenius link (please note: all adult volunteers must be CORI checked. This involves filling out a simple 1 page form and presenting your ID at the school office. Takes a week to process.). .
· 2 volunteers at breakfast (8:30 AM - 9:10 AM)
· 2 volunteers at lunch (11:00 AM - 1:15 PM):
· 1 transport volunteer weekly
If you have any questions, please contact the program coordinator, Meredith Moody (eredithm3@gmail.com). Thank you!
