We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the winners of the 2026 Westie Bestie Awards. These awards honor members of the West Middle community, who consistently make a positive impact at our school. Congratulations to our winners!

Andover Public Schools is pleased to announce we will continue to offer acceleration opportunities for students in Mathematics this summer. We realize that all students develop their mathematical abilities at different rates, so offering a variety of entry points remains important to us. We have outlined the summer mathematics programs that would enable your child to participate should they qualify. We will be offering two in-person summer courses at the high school: Algebra 1 and Geometry. Please note that if your student is currently in the Accelerated Math Program (AMP) they are learning both the Grade 8 and Algebra 1 math content.

Summer Math Enrichment

Dr. Riley, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, is excited to share the next phase of our Vision of the Graduate (VoG) work with the Andover community. As you may know, over the past four years, the VoG design team has partnered with educators, students, families, and community members to shape the APS Vision of a Graduate—a shared vision for the skills and mindsets our students need to thrive now and in the future.

In the last issue of All Around APS, we introduced the student‑designed Vision of a Graduate (below) and a short Vision of a Graduate introductory video, showcasing the creativity and leadership of our learners.

To begin our VOG launch, Dr. Riley will be hosting a parent Zoom on Thursday, March 19th from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Please register here to learn about the APS Vision of a Graduate. Thank you for your continued partnership and support!

As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, we want to support our students who will be observing this special time. During lunch periods throughout Ramadan, the library will be open and available as a quiet, comfortable space for students who are fasting. This optional space is intended to provide a calm environment for reading, reflection, or quiet study. Please note that the library is intended for quiet use only.

Students who plan to use the library during lunch are asked to connect with Mrs. Law or Mr. Fox in advance to make arrangements.

We are proud to support our diverse school community and ensure all students feel respected and accommodated during this meaningful month.

After an overwhelmingly positive response, the PAC sold 104 tickets. The Family Night is officially sold out. We look forward to the PAC sponsoring this event for our WMS families in the years to come.
