SOUTH SCHOOL May 31, 2026 | | | | |
| South School Families, We had a wonderful time at our Spring Fling on Friday evening! A huge thank you to our PTO and all of the volunteers who helped organize such a special event for our school community. Despite the rainy weather, the evening was still filled with fun, laughter, and school spirit as families gathered together indoors. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and support that made the event such a success.
This past week also included several exciting learning experiences for our students. Our fifth graders participated in their move-up days at their respective middle schools, while our third graders enjoyed a field trip to the Andover Center for History and Culture.
Looking ahead, we have another busy and exciting week at South School! Kindergarten will be heading to the zoo for their field trip, fourth grade will take part in their annual kickball game, and families are invited to attend the fifth grade Band, Orchestra, and Chorus Concert on Wednesday evening. On Friday, our fourth and fifth graders will participate in the annual Track Meet at Andover High School. Spectators are welcome, and we look forward to cheering on our students!
Warmly,
Brenda Lee, Principal Olivia Goodrich, Assistant Principal | | | | | | | | | Congratulations to our Math Olympiad team! South was recognized as a high-achieving school, and Ryan Jin scored a perfect score on the assessment. We want to thank Mr. Eracar for his involvement in running the program for the past six years! We also want to thank Mr. Jin for helping for the past couple of years as well. | | | As we complete our first year with Arts & Letters, our new elementary English Language Arts curriculum, your voice matters! This short survey is designed to gather your thoughts and experiences as a parent or guardian — from how your child has engaged with the material to any changes you've noticed in their reading and writing. Your honest feedback will help us continue to support every learner and make informed decisions going forward. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for being a partner in your child's education!

Library classes continue to learn, to love books, and to share our literature and research projects with one another right up until the final day of school!
We ask that library books and other materials be returned to the library to prepare for the summer and for the new school year by Friday, June 5, 2026.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. T-K, South School Library Teacher, Julianne Toomey-Kautz, at julianne.toomeykautz@andoverma.us | | All students are able to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily during the 2026-2026 school year.
