SOUTH SCHOOL May 24, 2026 | | | | |
| South School Families, It was wonderful to see so many exciting learning experiences and community events taking place at South School this past week! Our kindergarten students had a fantastic time during Math Mania, first graders enjoyed their visit to the Seacoast Science Center, and our fifth graders welcomed principals from West Middle School and Doherty Middle School as they begin preparing for their transition next year. On Friday, we wrapped up the week with two special traditions — Andover police officers greeting students during High Five Friday and Andover High School seniors returning to South School for their clap-out celebration. It was a memorable day for our school community!
Looking ahead, our fifth graders will participate in Move Up Day visits to their middle schools, and our third graders will visit the Andover Center for History & Culture. We also hope many of our families will join us for the PTO’s Spring Fling on Friday, May 29th. We look forward to another great week at South School!
Warmly,
Brenda Lee, Principal Olivia Goodrich, Assistant Principal | | | | Thank you to the Andover Police Department for greeting our students with a smile on Friday! | | | | | | | As we complete our first year with Arts & Letters, our new elementary English Language Arts curriculum, your voice matters! This short survey is designed to gather your thoughts and experiences as a parent or guardian — from how your child has engaged with the material to any changes you've noticed in their reading and writing. Your honest feedback will help us continue to support every learner and make informed decisions going forward. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for being a partner in your child's education!

Library classes continue to learn, to love books, and to share our literature and research projects with one another right up until the final day of school!
We ask that library books and other materials be returned to the library to prepare for the summer and for the new school year by Friday, June 5, 2026.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. T-K, South School Library Teacher, Julianne Toomey-Kautz, at julianne.toomeykautz@andoverma.us | | All students are able to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily during the 2026-2026 school year.
