Did you know that 300 million shoes end up in landfills each year? Through Nike's Reuse-a-Shoe organization, Wood Hill is running a drive throughout the month of October to collect old Sports shoes (sneakers).
Students (and teachers) are encouraged to bring in their old, worn out sports shoes to help reduce our waste. Shoes must meet the following criteria to be donated:
1. Be athletic shoes, any brand (flip-flops, sandals, dress shoes, and boots cannot be accepted)
2. Have no metal parts (ie: cleats or spikes)
Shoes are ground up into Nike Grind and used to make sports courts and playgrounds and ground up to make new shoes. Our goal is to collect 1000 shoes by the month's end. Once again, thank you for your support.
