Construction crews have been installing new concrete floors at the West Elementary – Shawsheen Preschool project on select days over the past 3 weeks. This work has been weather-dependent and requires extended hours on the following days:
- Tuesday, April 18, 2023; Thursday April 20, 2023, Friday April 21, 2023
- Tuesday, April 25, 2023; Thursday April 27, 2023
- Tuesday, May 2, 2023; Thursday May 4, 2023
- Tuesday, May 9, 2023; Thursday May 11, 2023
This construction work will be contained and isolated within the construction site fence and the new school structure. The reason for the extended work period is due to the ‘setting’ time for the new concrete and ability to complete final finishing for each concrete floor placement.
This will require setting up equipment and materials at 6:00AM on the days noted above. In order to finish the concrete, work will require brief and periodic equipment to run until completion, which will vary from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Equipment will emit sounds equal to, or less than, a lawn mower, for intervals of 15-20 minutes.
In the event unfavorable weather is experienced on any of the dates listed above, the work will be canceled and rescheduled.
All parking and recreation areas of West Elementary will be open and accessible.
