July 28, 2022
On July 28th, Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker signed the state’s FY23 budget, which includes access for free school meals for public school students across Massachusetts. I am pleased to inform our families that meals will be free for all APS students again this year. This means that students will be entitled to one (1) free breakfast and one (1) free lunch for the 2022-23 school year. I would like to express my gratitude to our state legislators, including Senator Barry Finegold, State Representatives Tram Nguyen and Frank Moran for their support of this important initiative and for our families.
I wanted to share this good news with our families. The APS Food and Nutrition Department will send additional details as we approach the start of the school year. We look forward to seeing our students return to the classroom next month.
