West Elementary was accepted into the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) program in December 2017 and is currently taking specific steps prescribed by the state process. Most notably, funding for a “feasibility study” was approved by Town Meeting in May 2018, and the study is expected to be complete in early 2020. The feasibility study will recommend a “preferred solution” to address West El’s facility needs—either a building renovation or a total replacement—to be considered by the community at a future Town Meeting.

Andover High School Facility Study Committee
The Andover High School Facility Study Committee was formed in January 2017 and has been conducting a preliminary feasibility study with the architecture firm HMFH. The Study Committee has developed many options for improvements at Andover High, ranging from $7 million worth of safety and security upgrades to over $200 million for a new school building.

For both of these projects, community feedback is critical. Meetings of both committees are open to the public and notifications are posted to the Town of Andover website.
Meetings are also videotaped and can be viewed from the Andover TV website.
