The Next Generation MCAS test was designed to specifically better measure students’ ability to think critically. This new test will be computer based which will be phased in over the next three years. All students, grades 3 – 8 will be expected to participate using a computer in 2019.
Andover students in grades 4 and 8 will take a computer based test in the spring of 2017.
High School students will continue to take the paper/pencil version in both Math, ELA, and Science.
The MCAS testing schedule will have only one testing window for elementary and middle school students to minimize the disruption in instructional time. High School students will be testing the first week in March.
