If you are looking for a strong score for your science fair project, it is important to know what the judges are looking for when they evaluate your project. The six categories below show the judging criteria and the number of points associated with each category
From these criteria, the important elements of the project can be identified:
1) Preliminary Research - what have you learned about your question/problem before investigating it
2) Quality of scientific investigation/engineering design process - well structured experiment or design solutions
3) Log book with research, plans, trials, data, analysis - ie. all of your work
4) Final written report with bibliography of resources used
5) Project display (note - important, but only worth 5 points)
6) Verbal presentation and responses to questions
