IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR AP EXAMS - Click Here
Updated April 29, 2021
In late February, the College Board announced the NEW, later AP exam dates and options for this year. We are fortunate that they offered testing options that will give our students time to prepare for their exams. It has also allowed us to minimize the negative impact of classes being displaced on campus.
The platform for digital exams will not be the same as what was used for AP exams in the Spring 2020. Students will not need to install the LockDown Browser they may be using for secure AP Classroom assignments. Beginning in April, students can access the exam application and a digital exam practice resource that enables them to confirm the viability of their technology well before the test day. Students may also experience the exam day flow, and practice answering the exam questions, including each type of multiple-choice and free-response questions they’ll encounter on exam day.
Please note that for the 2020-2021 academic school year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the APS School Committee has waived the requirement that students take the AP exam to earn the AP designation on their transcript. Although there has been a temporary shift in the policy, please be aware that in most Advanced Placement courses the AP exam is the final exam in the course. Choosing not to take the AP exam can impact your final grade. Please contact me for additional information for opting out of an exam. No changes to exam registrations will be made without parental authorization.
