Within the envelope air sealing project at AHS, two measures were identified: sealing the wall to roof area around the perimeter of the building, and weather stripping other building openings. The purpose of the weather stripping is to improve the quality of the building and extend its life by preventing ice and water damage. It also prevents heat and cooling from escaping or coming into the building. This would therefore reduce the amount of energy being wasted on both heating in the winter and cooling in the summer. The savings are $3,877 in energy cost per year.
