* 1- Package of college lined paper per term * 4 - 1 ˝ “ binders (1-red,1-blue,1-green, & 1-black) * A 70 page spiral bound notebook for Science. * A composition notebook to be used as a journal in L.A. (not spiral) * A three hole punch that fits into a three ring binder. * Subject dividers (at least 16). * Five or more pocket folders dedicated to individual subjects. One dedicated folder for homework. * 1 pencil bag or other suitable carrier for pencils, pens, erasers, etc. * Four or more #2 pencils with erasers. * Two or more ballpoint pens (blue or black ink only). * Two or more twelve inch / 30 cm rulers with holes for storage in the three ring binders. * Two or more red ballpoint pens for self correction and editing. * A memory stick or a few floppy discs to store files.(Protective carriers are needed with floppies.) * Dry erase markers (for Math). * Dry erase eraser (for Math). - Scientific Calculator for home use. - One box of colored pencils for map work and science drawings. - Colored markers and highlighters of several different colors. - 2 packages of index cards (4” X 6”) and 4 - loose leaf rings – 2” size. - Scissors (Quality sized. Lots of cutting needed for Social Studies.) - Book Covers: We prefer heavy paper covers that will last a long time. Teachers will be specific when classes meet. Please Note: No adhesive covers may be used on books loaned by the school.
We ask that each student bring in a box of tissues. Please mark your name and H.R. # on the box. The tissues are needed in the classrooms especially during cold, flu, and allergy seasons. Donations of paper towels are appreciated.
Team Lightning (go to Team Champion's list) Organizational skills are a key element of success that middle school students work toward. To assist with this objective, we have purchased four different colored binders, along with dividers for each student. Each academic class will be assigned a color and each student will use that color binder for that class. We ask that each student bring in $7.50 (checks can be made out to West Middle School) to their homeroom teacher on the first day of school for these supplies. This cost is significantly lower than if these materials were purchased at local stores. We have also compiled a list of supplies that each student should bring to school the first day. We encourage you to refrain from purchasing bulky trapper-like items or extra large back packs, as they will not fit into lockers (The locker interior measures 12.0” wide by 10.5”deep. You may want to purchase a plastic “locker shelf” that meets these dimensions – a helpful organizer.) The compiled supplies list for the team is as follows:
