Note-taking tips: 1. Don’t try to write down every word. 2. Write the main ideas, NOT complete sentences. (Just be sure that you can reconstruct a complete sentence from the phrase you have noted.) 3. Use abbreviations – you can make up your own. 4. If you are using paper and pencil to take notes, consider drawing a picture or a diagram. (If you are taking notes on the computer, you may draw diagrams after you print out your notes.)
