Here is a color-coded keyboard that you can print out and static cling to your monitor if you wish. Look at those adorable hands with the colored fingernails. Those are my daughter, Katherine's, hands which I traced when she was five years old. (Yes, she did learn to type when she was five, and you should see her now!)

    Notice that the colors on each fingernail correspond to the keys which they will strike. Fingers should be bent and fingertips should rest lightly on the middle row of letters, stretching upward, downward, and sideways as necessary, and returning immediately to the home row (middle row of letters) position.

    Repeat after me, "Thumb strikes only the spacebar."
