Dear Parents:
The Elementary School and Memorial Hall Librarians encourage you and your children to spend time reading this summer. These lists are recommended, not required, reading for children entering the K through fifth grade. The stories on this list are filled with adventure, humor and characters that will instill in your children an appreciation for the best of children’s literature and help foster their literacy development.
This year the school librarians have created an interactive list of suggested titles. If you've never used Pinterest before, it's quite simple. Just click on the link below, then scroll until you see the grade your student will be entering in September. Once you click on their upcoming grade level, you can also click on any of the titles listed for descriptions and reviews.
While all the titles are linked to Amazon, please note that the Andover school librarians do not endorse any particular book seller. Feel free to take this list to your local book seller or to Memorial Hall Library.
Please also check out the West Summer Reading Club with your children. Those students who complete the summer reading projects will be recognized at the first school assembly in September. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Ms. Coughlin.
Happy Summer Reading!
