Each month I will be meeting with a group [8-10] of grade 2 students during lunchtime as we discuss a book they will be reading at home independently or with assistance. Each week they will be responsible for reading reading a few chapters and being prepared for discussion. Interested students have signed up and are aware that each month different students will be chosen but all will be able to participate before the end of the school year.
Students will bring their lunch and book copy to the conference room where we will talk about the characters and situations they face as well as our feelings, reactions and opinions. This month's book is Soupy Saturdays with the Pain and the Great One by Judy Blume. Students with siblings will especially relate to this choice. Memorial Hall Library has lent me enough copies for each student.
