1. How do I register my child for school?

To register your child for grades K-5 at High Plain, you must be a resident of the neighborhood district for High Plain Elementary. Registration packets may be obtained at the High Plain office between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

To complete registration, please bring with you your child's birth certificate or passport, immunization records and current physical exam (dated within one year), and proof of residency. Proof of residency may be a property tax or utility bill, a purchase and sale agreement for new home buyers, or a lease agreement for renters.

Please note, the District age requirement for entering Kindergarten is five years of age before September 1 of that school year. The age requirement for entering first grade is six years of age before September 1 of that school year. For questions, please call the office at (978) 623-8900.

2. What are the hours of the school day?

The school day begins at 8:45 am for all full-day Kindergarten through fifth grade students. Students may begin arriving at 8:15 am. Please do not drop off your child prior to 8:15 am, as there is no supervision before that time. If your child arrives via parent drop-off after 8:45 am, an adult must escort him or her into the building to be signed in. The school day ends at 2:45 pm.

Morning half-day Kindergarten is from 8:45 am to 11:15 am. Afternoon half-day Kindergarten is from 12:15 pm to 2:45 pm.

3. What does my child need to bring to school?

Students should bring the supplies from their supply list on the first day of school and they will remain in class. Students should carry a backpack to bring belongings such as homework, books, and fliers to and from school. All students should be sure to wear sneakers on the day that they have Physical Education.
